Entre tanta agitación por la noticia política de ayer, al parecer la mayoría de personas nos hemos olvidado de comentar uno de los eventos más importantes de la industria de comics del año: Los premios Eisner.
Para que tengan una idea, los Eisners (llamados por el genio Will Eisner) son como los Oscars de los comics y se entregan todos los años en el San Diego Comicon. Junto a los premios Harvey, es uno de los reconocimientos más altos que la industria de comics estadounidense ofrece. Entre los nominados de este año, tenemos a:

Si hay categorías sin sombrear es porque simplemente no conozco el material en publicación. Fuera de esto, en general, la mayoría de las nominaciones me parecen certeras. Cabe notar que varios de los comics nominados han sido mencionados y discutidos en este blog como el Umbrella Academy de Gerard Way o el Good Bye de Yoshihiro Tatsumi. Uno que me alegra bastante ver es el Body World de Dash Shaw del cual también hablamos en este blog en una ocasión. Es sin lugar a dudas un comic 100% original y les aseguro les reventará el cerebro por todos lados. Así que no se olviden de traer recogedor. Están advertidos.

Si hay categorías sin sombrear es porque simplemente no conozco el material en publicación. Fuera de esto, en general, la mayoría de las nominaciones me parecen certeras. Cabe notar que varios de los comics nominados han sido mencionados y discutidos en este blog como el Umbrella Academy de Gerard Way o el Good Bye de Yoshihiro Tatsumi. Uno que me alegra bastante ver es el Body World de Dash Shaw del cual también hablamos en este blog en una ocasión. Es sin lugar a dudas un comic 100% original y les aseguro les reventará el cerebro por todos lados. Así que no se olviden de traer recogedor. Están advertidos.
En general, les recomiendo a todos ver y apreciar las nominaciones de los web comics. Si bien es cierto que vivimos en el Perú y que no tenemos acceso a la mayoría de los trabajos nominados, tenemos acceso al internerd y sin costo alguno podemos ver varios de los mejores trabajos que se están haciendo en este momento. Aparte del BodyWorld, tenemos el Versus de Alex Sottile y el Finder de Carla Speed McNeil que no dejan de ser trabajos geniales.
Tema aparte es la ausencia de Todd Klein, el uber-maestro en letreado. Klein tiene más de 10 premios Eisner en letreado y el hecho que no esté nominado es un shock para la comunidad comiquera. Supongo que uno no puede ganar siempre, ¿no? Sobre el resto, la mayoría son trabajos de gran calidad cuyas menciones son un poco predecibles. ¿All Star Superman cuenta como mejor historia en publicación? Fueron solo 12 números y desde los últimos Eisners, creo que solo han salido 2 números. En fin, es una de las mejores historias escritas del hombre de acero y probablemente vuelva a ganar el Eisner.
